Job Description
**This is a remote position. C** **andidate must reside in Arizona, Indiana, Pennsylvania or Tennessee and live within an hour from the following Accredo sites:**
**Memphis, TN**
**Nashville, TN**
**Warrendale, PA**
**Indianapolis, IN**
**Tempe, AZ**
**During the training period, the hours will be Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5 pm** **Eastern Time** **.**
**Once training concludes, the shift hours for this position will be Monday through Friday 10 am - 7 pm or** **11 am -8 pm Eastern Time. Candidates must be open to being placed in either shift schedule.**
The Staff Pharmacist interprets physicians' prescriptions, contacts doctors or other prescribers and/or patients to verify information on prescriptions and expedite processing of order. The Staff Pharmacist will consult with patients regarding the use of medications and potential drug interactions. This individual will help resolve patient inquiries, work in daily production and vary work priorities to accommodate business needs.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
+ Consult with patients regarding the use of medications and potential drug interactions.
+ Contact physicians for new and/or transfer authorization.
+ Collaborate with physicians to convert prescriptions to generic or preferred drugs whenever possible.
+ Interpret physicians' or prescribers' prescriptions.
+ Contact doctors and/or patients to verify information on prescriptions such as drug strength, prescription sig., and drug name in order to expedite processing of orders.
+ Provide oversight and quality assurance to pharmacy technicians.
+ Verify prescription information entered in the system by data entry or order entry.
+ Back up other pharmacists as needed, perform additional duties as assigned by management.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Current resident pharmacist license in good standing.
+ No current performance or behavioral issues.
+ Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve issues.
+ Good oral and written communication skills.
+ Ability to read and interpret prescriptions.
+ Strong focus on customer service, quality and accuracy.
+ Ability to adapt in a changing environment.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
