About Gymboree Play & Music

Gymboree Play & Music in San Diego is looking for Playful, Confident and Creative teachers, with a passion for play and working with children and adults. Excellent customer service and group facilitation skills are a must, as is the ability to work as part of a team.

Successful candidates are dynamic, outgoing, theatrical teachers who can take control of a busy room with a song, engage parents and toddlers in play activities, provide outstanding customer service, and meet sales goals.

Successful candidate will not be afraid to sing loudly in front of a crowd, and pay attention to small details in their surroundings. You must love blowing bubbles, take a sense of pride in your accomplishments, and seek to improve each and every day.

Teachers will lesson plan, teach classes, work the computer, answer phones and clean play equipment and props.

About Our Music Program
At Gymboree, we take a playful and active approach to musical learning. Our aim is to nurture emerging musical expression in young children through a focus on key "Musical Building Blocks" and the exploration of 16 different musical styles. Parents attend all classes with their children as they explore unique songs, play instruments and musical games. Lesson plans and training are provided.

Teacher Skills/Qualifications
--Pleasant and tuneful singing voice
--Love of singing, music making and teaching
--Group facilitation skills
--Experience working with young children a plus
--Ability to learn songs by ear or through music notation 
--Playful and energetic teaching style
--Retail experience a plus
--Consistent, dependable, hard-working
--Able to keep up with a high-paced work environment

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•Facilitate play and learning classes for parents and infants/toddlers using Gymboree's curriculum.
•Provide excellent customer service.
•Consult with families to sell an appropriate learning program.
•Uphold Gymboree's high standards of a clean, healthy, organized environment.

NOTE: Gymboree Play & Music provides paid training, which typically takes 6 weeks to complete.

HOURS
We have part time positions available in the mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends for Play & Learn teachers, as well as, Music teachers at both of our San Diego County locations (Clairemont Mesa & Poway).  Must be available to work at least one weekend shift.  

Opportunity for promotion to full-time employment is based upon performance.

Compensation: $12 per hour
